Your Legal Requirement
Who needs fire door audits, and how often
Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, the Responsible Person for any non-domestic building must ensure fire doors are regularly inspected and maintained. The Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 require communal fire doors in residential blocks over 11 metres to be inspected every three months, and flat entrance doors annually. Non-compliance can result in prosecution, unlimited fines, or imprisonment.
